With Rolla being placed under a Shelter at Home ordinance, you're probably wondering how you're going to keep yourself connected to the outside world. While we're trying to be as careful as possible to avoid spreading this virus, human connection is essential for maintaining mental health. Guess what? Human connection isn't lost! With all of the technologies we're gifted with today, there are many ways to stay connected to the outside world, while still being safe from the comfort of your home. This week, we at The Lodges at Rolla want to share a few virtual events taking place that you can 'attend' to stay connected to your local community.

Small Business Administration Webinar

Small-business owners who have suffered economic impact related to COVID-19 are invited to attend webinars offered by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri University of Science and Technology, SBDC at State Fair Community College and U.S. Small Business Administration. The webinars will cover information about the U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and feature experts from U.S. Small Business Administration and the Missouri Small Business Development Centers. A question and answer session follows the webinar presentation.
Three times are available for the webinars. People can attend via computer, phone or Zoom app. Registration is required (register for one only). There is no cost for these webinars.

This event is for middle and high school students who are interested in attending one of our nation’s five U.S. Service Academies. The application and selection process to attend a service academy is very competitive and requires students to be meticulous. Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler's information day presents the perfect opportunity for students to gain the knowledge and expertise they will need to submit a quality application for consideration.

The Rolla City Council meets twice monthly, on the first and third Mondays of the month, unless interrupted by an observed holiday.
Meetings are broadcasted live on Rolla Channel 16, (Rolla's Public Education & Government channel.) For rebroadcast information, please email Kenny Perzan, Fidelity Local 6 (FL6) Senior Video Editor, or call (573) 426-3377. Meetings are also streamed on YouTube. Transcripts of each City Council meeting also are available for download or by contacting Carol Daniels in the Rolla City Clerks office.
