Summer break is just about over, and many of us are starting to figure out our plans for back to school in the fall. If you're not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, then there's no better time to get outside and explore. With this absolutely gorgeous weather we've been experiencing, the best way to truly enjoy it is by hitting some nature trails! So this week, The Lodges at Rolla thought it would be a great idea to share with you some of our favorite local recreational parks and nature trails that are worth checking out!

For the nature-lover, conservationist, hiker, runner and biker. Audubon Trails NC is located north of I-44. The NC is a unique 70-acre reserve dedicated to community education and habitat preservation.

Nearly 85 acres of open grassland, walking trails, and top of the line recreational facilities make Ber Juan the centerpiece of Rolla’s parks. Ber Juan park is located in the east-central part of Rolla.
HIghway 63 South
Rolla, MO
National Forest located 13 miles south on Highway 63. There are two trails, Little Piney Creek, a Wild Trout Management Area with native rainbow trout as well as bass and sunfish.

A beautiful park with 10 pavilions, playground, basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball/softball fields, soccer complex, hiking and biking trails and a stocked lake.

St. James, MO
300 beautiful acres with a reception center, cafe, campground, picnic areas, two museums, playgrounds, hiking trails, tennis courts, trout fishing and historic ironworks.

Rolla, MO
An 11 acre park, the perfect place to relax and reflect on military history. The park also features a large pavilion, a perfect place for BBQ’s, family picnics and local events.
