Instead of throwing a bunch of items on your walls and squeezing in a ton of furniture pieces, try and consolidate by having focal points in each room. For example, in your living room, place a large couch with smaller pieces of furniture that create what your living room will be. Or, in your bedroom, place a desk and bed, but try and keep your dresser and other furniture pieces small to midsize to avoid having a room that feels tight and cluttered.

Mirrors Work Magic!

You have probably heard of this trick, but it is such a good tip we had to include it! Mirrors are great at creating the illusion of having a bigger space. Truly you cannot go wrong with having a few mirrors throughout your apartment, as it will make the space feel larger and much more open, which is great for you and your guests as no one enjoys feeling cramped!
